When You Reach Me

What does metacognition do for us?

Metacodnition helps us understand thinking about thinking. It helps us learn better when we understand our strengths and weaknesses, and this magic of metacognition helps us learning about ourselves, not the teacher learning about us, teachers can help us learn by  asking that make us thinking about our thinking and support answer by our thinking.

What brings a character to life?

Bring the characters to be alive is Getting to know your fictional was all about fleshing them out on paper. You have created a living, breathing human being in your imagination. They feel real to you. You have come up with plenty of vivid, original, interesting ,mini-biographies, or profiles, also, emotional and feeling of joy, anger, jealousy, grief, fear, despair, details for them to help you bring them to life .The idea was to make them live and breathe in your own imagination, thus enabling you to write about them with authority. And working out what aspects of a character's personality you will reveal in each chapter of the novel also exploring his emotions and learning more about the character. And sometimes make the readers view the characters in a new light, by providing them with unexpected details.

What makes an effective communicator?

Effective communication helps us better understand a person or situation and enables us to resolve differences, build trust and respect, and create environments where creative ideas, problem solving, affection, and caring can flourish. As simple as communication seems, much of what we try to communicate to others—and what others try to communicate to us—gets misunderstood, which can cause conflict and frustration in personal and professional relationships. By learning these effective communication skills, you can better connect with your spouse, kids, friends, and coworkers.

  • Make the speaker feel heard and understood, which can help build a stronger, deeper connection between you.

  • Create an environment where everyone feels safe to express ideas, opinions, and feelings, or plan and problem solve in creative ways.

  • Save time by helping clarify information, avoid conflicts and misunderstandings.

Relieve negative emotions. When emotions are running high, if the speaker feels that he or she has been truly heard, it can help to calm them down, relieve negative feelings, and allow for real understanding or problem solving to begin.

In what ways does literature  connect to the larger world?

We can learn the lesson from it, we can be able to communicate with the world. You can talk about the lesson with the people around.

How does what you learned connect to the larger real world?

We can talk about it, we can use it in a future, like in the book when you reach me, it’s like Sal got punched and the rest of the friends misunderstood. They didn’t went up and talk they just ignore and the relationship didn’t continue. So if we have friends like that in the future, we can walk up to them and actually talk what happen.

As you look at the work that you have completed throughout this unit, what are you strengths?

I think my strengths are reading a bigger book and knowing what type of genre is it. Also, leaning my own type of book and make reading more fun to read. Choose the book that I like to read and lean more vocabulary by reading those books. Moreover, I grew as a good reader by reading longer books and take short time to finished it before.

As you look at the work that you have complested  throughout this unit, what do youy think you should improve?

I think the thing that I should improve is grammar and explantions that I have lean throughout this unit because sometime I don't know the informaton about some vocabulary that teacher ask me to explain.

so, this makes me think that I should improve more and I will ask more questions if I need too to make sure that I understand. Also, to make sure that I'm on the right track.
